Mrs. Juanita Sheppard Linnenkohl, 94, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at National Healthcare.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 in the Rowland-Ford Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Porterfield officiating. Interment will follow in Pineview Memorial Gardens.
She was born June 18, 1923 to Marvin and Oma Sheppard of Jefferson County, GA and was the last of six children. Mrs. Linnenkohl spent her life as a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her husband retired at the age of 50 and they spent the next 30 years traveling, becoming active in their church and generally enjoying life.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Grady Warren Linnenkohl, her grandson, Troy Bean and her son-in-law, Richard Powell.
She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Maxwell (David) and Miriam Powell; her granddaughter, Heather Eloy Powell; her “like a daughter” Loretta Groseclose (Bud Maxwell); several nieces, nephews and a host of other family and close friends.
The family will receive friends at Rowland-Ford Funeral Home on Monday, November 20, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
The family would like to thank all the staff at St. John Towers, NHC and Caris Hospice for their loving care over the past few years.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
