Edgefield, SC…… Mrs. Inez Ross Lockey Reifsnyder, 99, wife of the late Fred G. Lockey and Wayne Reifsnyder, entered into rest on Monday, January 7, 2019 at the home of her grandson, Alex Hamilton, in Edgefield, SC.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Aiken Memorial Park with Dr. Rev. Mark Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
Inez was born in New Bern, NC and it was there that she met her first husband, Fred Lockey. After raising their children in New Bern and working for many years in the restaurant business, they moved together to Graniteville, SC and ran the dining room at Midland Valley County Club. Upon retirement, they moved to McCormick and (Clarks Hills) where they enjoyed many great times with their grandchildren. Upon the death of Fred, Inez met and married Wayne Reifsnyder. She led a full and enjoyable life. She was a member of McCormick United Methodist Church and the McCormick Country Club.
Survivors include: one son, Fred G. Lockey, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; one stepson, Jeff (Beth) Reifsnyder of Pennsylvania; one son-in-law, Jack A. Hamilton of Edgefield, SC; one brother, William Riley Ross, Jr. of Florida; grandchildren: Art Hamilton (Angelle) of Atlanta, GA; Alex (Donna) Hamilton of Edgefield, SC; Kay (Joe) Taynor of S. Daytona, FL; Joe Smith, Jr.; Kelly (Bucky) McIntosh all of Jacksonville, FL; and Andy Lockey of Seneca, SC; 8 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her two daughters, Linda Smith and Judith Hamilton; and her sister, Alice Ross McSorley.
