Belvedere, SC…...Mr. Charles P. “Pete” Fulmer, Sr. 99, husband of the late Nettie Lou D. Fulmer, entered into rest on Monday, December 16, 2019 at his residence.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 20, 2019 at Belvedere First Baptist Church with Rev. John Meyer officiating. Interment with Veteran’s Honors will be in Pineview Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Fulmer was a native of Johnston, SC and had made Belvedere his home since 1952. He served his country in the US Army during World War II, having landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day. He earned several Bronze Service Stars and a Good Conduct Medal during his time in the service. He was a long time member of Belvedere First Baptist Church and at the time of his death was the oldest member of the church. He retired from Clearwater Finishing Plant after more than 30 years of service as a plater.
Survivors include three sons, Charles P. Fulmer, Jr. (Faye), John R. Fulmer (LeAnn) and James L. Fulmer (Ginny); his grandchildren, Jerry Fulmer, Sherry Fulmer, Austin Fulmer, Mallory Fulmer and Will Buchanan; his great grandchildren, Christian Horne, Katelyn Fulmer and Allie Fulmer; his sister, Elizabeth Hendrix.
In addition to his wife he was also preceded in death by his great grandson, Carly Peace.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Metts, Travis Metts, Randy Stanley, Mark Fulmer, Austin Fulmer and Jim Jennings.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Mr. Fulmer’s daughters-in-law and to the staff of MSA Hospice for the care they gave Mr. Fulmer.
